NEW ALBUM – THE KEYBLADE WAR (KINGDOM HEARTS)

This month, Rozen and I finally took on one of our favorite franchises in album form: KINGDOM HEARTS.

We’ve both loved Yoko Shimomura’s music since the first game, along with Hikaru Utada’s iconic songs used as opening themes. I seriously used to listen to Dearly Beloved and cry, all the time. The music means a lot, and we had such a fun time putting our spin on it!

Hear us take on music from across the series in our hybrid orchestral pop style in The Keyblade War.

New Video Game Credit: Final Fantasy XIV

I am so thrilled to finally announce my involvement with patch 5.2 of Final Fantasy XIV, Echoes of a Fallen Star. I was lucky to sing on one of the final boss themes by composer Masayoshi Soken. Working with Square Enix is a dream come true, especially for a Final Fantasy game!

The song is called “Return to Oblivion” and you can hear it at the end of Eden’s Verse.

Square Enix posted a blog describing the song and its lyrics here: https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/pr/blog/002961.html

Also, the song is available to purchase on the Shadowbringers EP, both on Amazon, iTunes, and more (download only).

Soken’s music is incredible, and this song is no exception. I was extremely honored to be a part of Final Fantasy XIV and the Final Fantasy series as a whole!

2019 Catch Up

The past year has flown by in a whirlwind! Doing a bit of quick catching up before I dive into some newer exciting things from 2020.
While I kept busy with Materia Collective for the most part, there were a few musical collaborations that I want to highlight from the second half of 2019:

July 30: Materia Community came together to release EIDOLON: Music from Final Fantasy IX. I had the pleasure of writing lyrics for the last suite of tracks, “I Want to Be Your Canary.”

Sep. 13: Rozen and I released a single for the first time in ages, covering the main battle theme “Fódlan Winds” from Fire Emblem Three Houses (one of my latest game obsessions).

Oct. 22: I wrote some more lyrics for a theatrical arrangement “The Trial” on Materia’s EPOCH: A Tribute to Chrono Trigger.

Nov. 22: I got to sing on “Twinleaf Town” as part of Braxton Burks’ gorgeous album of Pokemon Diamond/Pearl arrangements, Time & Space.

Stayed tuned in the next week or so for some more news that I’ve been dying to reveal!

Live Performance Videos – Anime Los Angeles

Back in January, I had the pleasure of performing as a soprano soloist with Tonario Orchestra at Anime Los Angeles. I sang music by Joe Hisaishi, Hikaru Utada, and Akira Senju. And now after a bit of time, there’s finally video to share!

Check out the performance videos in this playlist. It includes video from Anime LA as well as solo performances with the Angel City Chorale.

Awards Season!

The beginning of the year is crowded with awards programs, and the video game industry is no exception. I’m really honored to share that two projects I participated in this past year have been nominated for awards, and one has won!

Children of Termina – the dark symphonic retelling of Majora’s Mask by Rozen – has won the award for “Best Album: Fan-Arranged” in the Annual Game Music Awards put on by VGMO. I had an incredible time contributing vocals, score preparation, and production for this album, and I’m so proud of everyone involved for their hard work!

Ballad of the Windfish” from Rozen’s Ballads of Hyrule album (and featuring me on vocals) has been nominated for a Game Audio Network Guild (G.A.N.G.) Award for Best Game Music Cover/Remix! I’m so excited to be included with a superb group of nominees. Stay tuned next month to find out if we win or not!

End of Year – 4 New Releases

It’s been a busy 2018, and things didn’t slow down going into December. I’ve had four new releases come out in the past few weeks!

Nov. 16: I released my second single – Sakura Nagashi – my take on one of my favorite ballads by Utada Hikaru.

Nov. 30: Rozen’s latest Zelda-themed album, Children of Termina, debuted (and made #9 on the Billboard Classical Chart this week!)

Dec. 4: My talented friend Marc Straight released iamheaven – a beautiful synth pop album on which I wrote two songs and sang one of them. Catch me on “Tremor” and my lyrics in “Ephemeral.”

Dec. 7: Materia Collective released their latest community album – OMEGA: a Tribute to Xenogears. I’m featured as a soloist on the penultimate track, “The Beginning and the End.”

I’ve had so much fun making music this year, and I can’t wait for what 2019 brings!

Angel City Chorale “One World” Album Released

After finishing in the semi-finals of America’s Got Talent this summer, Angel City Chorale has released a new live album, One World (Live from Los Angeles). I was so happy to help facilitate the release, and I am even more thrilled that it includes my latest piece for choir and orchestra, “Cempasúchil,” recorded at its premiere performance in June. I also arranged several pieces on the album, and I am featured as a soloist on “Samba Do Avião” and “Adiemus.”

The album is a stunning collection of songs from composers such as John Williams, Christopher Tin, Antonio Carlos Jobim, and Karl Jenkins.

Check it out on iTunes, Amazon, CD Baby, and more!

Good news! The game BestLuck, on which I provided some vocals, is now available! It is a dreamy puzzle adventure game for phone or iPad. I was honored to represent the voice of the mysterious girl in your dreams. <3
